SANTA MONICA PIER
The location for many films - including the Academy-Award-winning best picture The Sting - the Santa Monica pier was built in 1922. It is home to the famous Carousel, housed in a Victorian-style hippodrome building. At the end of the pier lies Pacific Park, featuring a nine-story-tall roller coaster, bumper cars and a games arcade.

OCEAN FRONT WALK
A broad, paved footpath that stretches from the Pier south to Venice, Ocean Front Walk gives visitors access to every beach activity, including a children's playground, volleyball courts, the International Chess Park, famous Muscle Beach and public art installations.

BICYCLE AND ROLLERBLADE RENTALS
The South Bay Bicycle Trail sweeps for more than 20 miles of cycling or skating right at the edge of the sand. Should you wish to rent cycles or skates, please contact the concierge.

Tides Shuttle
This city shuttle bus makes a continuous loop from the Third Street Promenade to the Santa Monica Pier and down Main Street. Fare is 25 cents.
